The
School-based Arts Project comprises of an annual
Arts Day and a Joint Special Schools Music and
Arts Festival (JSSMAF) for disabled children in
Special Schools, Early Education and Training
Centres (EETC) and Special Child Care Centres
(SCCC).
The
annual Arts Day will aim at promoting interest
in arts and culture amongst children with disabilities.
We would encourage participation by students in
Special Schools, EETC and SCCC in interest classes
of painting, drawing, Chinese calligraphy, ceramic
and singing, as well as mass games like dancing,
characters design playground, puppet shows etc.
The JSSMAF
will include a variety show and an exhibition.
It will aim at providing performance opportunities
for disabled students to show what they have achieved
in arts and culture training, and at the same
time, enhancing public awareness of the benefits
of integrating disabled children in arts and cultural
life, e.g. enhancing self-confidence, expression
and communication skills and creativity.
